New Single "I Dive In" from my EP "Norge" out NOW!
Let me tell you about the very personal experience I had while making the upcoming EP „Norge“. I was invited to play my original music on a German cruise ship. We went all the way up the coast of Norway as far as Honningsvåg (North Cap) stopping in many beautiful small towns and flowing through jaw dropping fiords.
At night into the wee hours I sat in my cabin on board and gaze out the window into the endless blue twilight. Something came over me like a deep sense of blue. It wasn’t your typical blue… it was a deep deep blue.
If you’ve ever been sailing along the coast of Norway in the very early months of Spring you too would have witnessed this blue that my camera couldn’t even capture in its purity. It’s just simply too deep. My heart felt overwhelmed with the workings of past excitement and disappointment of love coming and going.
I’m not really sure why it was exactly in this moment, but it just was. Immediately I took out the two wonderful microphones I had brought with me and connected them to my recording equipment which I also always bring along for moments just like this one. And so was written and recorded “Norge”.

So startet Steve Savage seinen neuen Song „Don‘t forget“. Und damit das ganze neue Album. Sagt eigentlich schon alles.
Wäre da nicht auch noch das gebrochene Herz… gleich im nächsten Satz…
In dieser Kombination können sich heute viele wiederfinden, die versuchen, in dieser komplizierten Welt zu überleben. Versuchen, positiv zu bleiben und zu geben. Aber genau das macht er mit seiner Musik seit er unterwegs ist, weltweit und nach seiner Übersiedlung zu unserem alten Kontinent vor allem in ganz Europa.
Nun hat er sich, nach Jahren in Holland und der Schweiz, in Deutschland, Düsseldorf, eingerichtet. Einen Produktionsplatz in den berühmten Skyline Studios ergattert. Seinen Freund aus Nashville-Zeiten Eric Koslosky immer wieder eingeladen, hier mit ihm aufzutreten.
Und nun endlich ein brandneues Album produziert.
Und er brennt und kann es nicht mehr abwarten, die Songs mit dem Publikum zu teilen. Denn das ist neben den fein-wilden Kompositionen über Gott und die Welt und die Liebe seine weitere große Stärke: seine Leidenschaft, Begeisterung, Zärtlichkeit und Kraft auf das Livepublikum zu übertragen. Das wird jeder bestätigen, der ihn schon mal live erlebt hat.
Acoustic Groove, eine blendende weil absolut passende Definition, die er da gefunden hat. Denn was er aus der Westerngitarre herausholt, ist neben seinen Fingerfertigkeiten und stilübergreifenden Harmoniewechseln, die lebensbejahende pure Freude, die uns Hörer groovend mitschwingen lässt und uns das Herz erleichtert.
Wenn er zusammen mit Eric Koslosky, der ihn wundervoll ergänzt mit seinem lässigen gefühlvollen Bassspiel, dann auch mal melancholischere Saiten anschlägt, können wir immer gewiss sein, dass am Ende die Hoffnung siegt.
Und das ist nicht wenig heutzutage.
